David Carson :: Custodian
David's passion and commitment to excellence is evident through the ways he maintains our warm and welcoming space, both indoors and out. In addition to Oakley UMC, you can find David at the V.A., where he works diligently serving the needs of our local veterans. David also coaches basketball and operates a lawn maintenance service.
CARLY ESSLINGER :: Administrator
Carly is a natural fit for the administrator position, as she is also the co-founder and former manager of the Oakley Farmers Market. She possesses a great love for community organizing and successfully connects the community and our church in dynamic and creative ways. grace Lee :: Director of music
Ko Eun (Grace) Lee, a native of South Korea, recently joined Oakley UMC as Director of Music. She completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Post Master's Certificate in Music Theory Pedagogy at UNC Greensboro. In addition, she earned a Master of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. Grace received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and was awarded the outstanding senior graduate in piano. She is an Adjunct Piano Faculty member at Brevard College and Mars Hill University, and also teaches at the Academy for the Arts at First Baptist Church in Asheville. Grace is an active soloist and chamber musician across the U.S., and has appeared in numerous performances, conferences, and master classes. She enjoys reading, jogging, and experiencing new adventures of all kinds. She also loves hanging out at the many local parks and in downtown Asheville.
John Randall :: sexton
John is our unofficial Sexton of the church - someone who helps care for the church, and helps it run smoothly. He is an indispensable part of our church family, and we love his positive attitude and calm spirit. John is always willing to help out, no matter what needs to be done. He lives in the Oakley community, and we are so fortunate that he is with us.
vic wilfong :: Pastor
Pastor Vic was appointed to Oakley UMC in September of 2016. He began his ministry in 2010 at the age of 54. His first appointment was serving two churches in the Leicester Community and serving as the Assistant Director of Ministries at Givens Estates Retirement Community. After receiving his Masters of Divinity degree from Hood Theological Seminary in 2014, he was appointed to two churches in Gastonia, NC. Vic, his wife Debbie, and their three grand-puppies Buddy, Peanut, and Romeo, are very excited and feel truly blessed to be back in the Asheville area.
